This is a great rimless glass aquarium priced at half of what I have seen similar tanks go for. Not including the pedestal, the tank is 14" high and roughly 9-10/16" wide and long. The pedestal adds another 1-1/4" of height without increasing the footprint. There is plastic divider siliconed across the back of the tank creating a separate rear 2” compartment. A sheet of glass lays over the front compartment of the tank with a small gap at the front which permits air flow with the outside room. The rear compartment has a somewhat flimsy plastic piece covering it (more on this later). Overall, the aquarium is well protected from the outside and there is no risk of fish jumping out or cats jumping in.

This is a very nice little aquarium and most people will really like it. I would recommend getting the five gallon tank over the smaller ones, even if you only plan on getting a betta, they will love the space. It was easy to put together and I love the lights. If you are not trying to have live plants the lights are fantastic, the blue light setting makes things kind of glow. The pump is strong but can be turned down, I was able to rotate the dial all the way around and the setting went down quite low for my betta. I have a female betta, three pink danio's (they glow with the blue lights) and a snail, two plants, a sponge bob house and gary (sponge bob's snail), I also included a Marimo ball. Everything fits great with plenty of room I really like this tank and did not replace the lights or the pump. I did get a five gallon heater, you should too. Have fun I think you will really enjoy this great little set up.

I did a lot of research for a 5 gallon for my betta. I wanted a tank that was clear on all sides -- I was considering the fluval chi II, but decided against it due customer reviews concerning the rate of water dissipation (not being able to leave the tank for more than a few days), and the top filter/issues.
I am very happy with this aquarium! It looks great; love the shape & size. I am not using the filter that came with it (to conserve tank space), and opted for an HOB (Azoo Mignon 150). The Azoo fits in back slot, as well as the light that comes with the tank, but because it's a tight squeeze, my lid does sit a little high in back (fits fine in front) -- not really noticeable at all.
I have nothing but good things to say about this tank. *Note that there is a uncovered oval feeding area on front cover, but I do not think this will cause my betta issues. You can cover it, with mesh, to be extra cautious)

My beautiful blue betta lived in a bowl for about a year. It was a pretty big bowl in my relatively warm bedroom and I conditioned the water and changed it every week, but the other night I came home and he was so lethargic I thought he was dead. Literally, I flipped him over and he didn't budge, and I went to get a net to scoop him out and everything, but when I walked back in the room he was up and swimming! I was thrilled, because I'm pretty fond of the little guy, but I was worried he might be sick. I mentioned this to my housemate, who asked if maybe he was hibernating or something since it was winter now, and so cold out. Having just stuck my hand in the bowl, I knew for a fact that the water was really cold, and it occurred to me for the first time that that was probably Not Right. So I did some research............

I purchased this aquarium through Amazon about 6 weeks ago and so far, so good! If anything goes downhill I'll update this review. The first thing I noticed was the lid on mine is a good bit different from the photo and that also includes the LEDs in it. So it looks to me as if I got a newer lid than those people here who have had the LEDs go out on them. My on/off button is on the opposite side from the above photo. The LEDs are well enclosed behind a clear plastic shield and I have yet to experience any condensation on the LED side of this clear plastic cover. Also, the ad above says the LEDs in this tank are bright white/blue/white-blue. My LEDs are bright white/blue/red/green and variants allowed by those colors. When I have it set to dim between color changes, I also see yellows, violets, etc. I also purchased a 25-watt heater for the tank. This tank lid has a perfectly sized cut-out to remove for a heater. It also has a cut-out to enable use of a larger filter. The filter that comes with the tank fits nicely under the hood, If you use the tank with no added heater (or maybe a bottom-styled heater where you just need to run its cord under the edge of the lid) you would have no problem with escaping residents!!! I've not had fish in many years (used to have 50-gallon tanks) and this tank is more of an effort to give my fat cat some pets of her own to be interested in!! LOL!!! At this point in time, I am very happy with this little 5-gallon set up and would definitely buy it again provided the lid is constructed as this one is over the LEDs!! Quite happy!

I bought this tank for my wife. She wanted her own tank that she could keep a beta in and that was easy to maintain. After building multiple reef tanks over the years I had a pretty good idea of what would do the job and this little tank does the job well. It comes with everything you need except a heater. The small $10 heater from Walmart fits perfectly in the back chamber of this tank. I did a nano driftwood planted aquascape and the wife's beta loves it. I also added a cheap timer for the lights and now the tank pretty much runs itself. Just make sure to clean the filter and change the carbon once a month and your good to go(super easy with this tank). Don't clean the ceramic rings as they harbor benificial bacteria. Anyways this little bad boy has been purring like a kitten for about 4 months and all the plants and fish are happy and healthy
